Jill Update

The purpose of this weblog was to keep Jill's family and friends current on her treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Jill passed away on January 20, 2013 after a 10 year battle against the disease and the side effects of her many treatments. This blog will now serve as a memorial to Jill. Please feel free to add your comments and thoughts.

Treatment going well

Jill is now well into her latest chemo routine. She had her first chemo treatment of this round on October 24th, and another one this Tuesday (October 31). The plan now is to have one more next Tuesday, followed by a rest week and then three more weekly treatments. At that point Jill's medical team will run scans to see what progress has been made, and based on those findings, develop a plan for the longer term treatment. So far, it looks like this type of chemo, given at the current levels, has fewer side effects than her previous treatments. Jill is experiencing fatigue and some nausea, symptoms similar to a case of the flu, but otherwise feels quite well. The docs say she probably won't lose her hair this time.

Jill is continuing to get her exercise and is doing some volunteer work. She went to her most recent chemo treatment on Halloween dressed up (see photo). Jill designed this "boooo-stier" (bustier) as an entry in a Breast Cancer Awareness Month contest.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who has sent us expressions of support.
