Jill Update

The purpose of this weblog was to keep Jill's family and friends current on her treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Jill passed away on January 20, 2013 after a 10 year battle against the disease and the side effects of her many treatments. This blog will now serve as a memorial to Jill. Please feel free to add your comments and thoughts.

Stronger every day

There hasn't been much news to report since my last post. Jill is mostly over the lower respiratory infection she had when I reported last time. She is still on IV fluids but is reducing her doses of immuno-suppressing and other drugs. She is also gaining strength from exercise and physiotherapy.

Sylvia and Jill get out of the house for exercise when they can, but July is very hot in Boise and the air quality is frequently affected by nearby forest fires. When this happens the best place for Jill is indoors.

Thanks to all of you who have made donations to the Jill Korn Benefit Fund.

Hi all. I was Tom's admin. Asst. for years. Since I moved across campus last year - I don't get as many updates.

Jill came to mind this morning during my drive to work. I was so glad to see positive entries on the blog; home again, regaining strength...

I have so often thought of writing to Jill and Sylvia but it is very difficult to put into mere words how much admiration I have for the sheer determination and dedication of mother to daughter, and the survival skills that Jill possesses.

There is so much love in that Boise household it must eminate from it like an aura.

I know Jill and Scott are grateful to have had Sylvia's presence there. She is their guardian angel.

The Sasq. event sounds like a great success! What a wonderful family story. Kind of shows where that strength, determination and survival comes from.

Just wanted you all to know that I am thinking of you today and sending good wishes your way.

Hope you're managing to stay cool.
