Jill Update

The purpose of this weblog was to keep Jill's family and friends current on her treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Jill passed away on January 20, 2013 after a 10 year battle against the disease and the side effects of her many treatments. This blog will now serve as a memorial to Jill. Please feel free to add your comments and thoughts.

Two weeks post-transplant

It has now been two weeks since Jill's transplant. Jill had been in the hospital since the transplant to guard against infection, especially respitory syncytial virus (RSV), which had been quite common in the Seattle area this winter. On Friday she was released from the hospital based on the assessment that the risk of infection had decreased sufficiently. However, following bouts of nausea Friday night she went back into the hospital on Saturday. She is now rehydrated but still in the hospital where the doctors can more easily monitor her condition and deal with the side effects of the chemo she is receiving.

Sylvia is now almost fully recovered from her surgery and is able to care for Jill. I returned to Missouri on Friday.
