Jill Update

The purpose of this weblog was to keep Jill's family and friends current on her treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Jill passed away on January 20, 2013 after a 10 year battle against the disease and the side effects of her many treatments. This blog will now serve as a memorial to Jill. Please feel free to add your comments and thoughts.

The Big 3-0

Happy Birthday to Jill! She turned 30 on Sunday, August 28. Some people may dread turning 30, but she is looking forward to better days. In preparation for the upcoming Seattle transplant, Jill started another round of chemotherapy on the Friday after the Omaha visit. The doctors also sampled her spinal fluid for testing. During the past week she has had a difficult time with pain and nausea. On Friday the 26th she was admitted to the hospital for fluids and to get the pain and nausea in check. Jill returned home Sunday morning, but she is still experiencing some nausea. It's frustrating for her to feel so lousy for so long. Plus she has to remain watchful for other side effects from the recent chemo. Rest is the best remedy right now. Hopefully she will want to eat her birthday cake soon. Time frames are still unknown, but she will eventually have a scan to determine if she is ready to proceed with the transplant. Right now the goal is to feel better from the treatment - taking it one day at a time.

Hey! I hope you got my card, and happy BIG 3-0! What a milestone!

If you didn't get my card, let me know and I'll throw another one in the mail. I've been having some minor difficulties with mail since closing on my house since my new address doesn't technically currently exist--the neighborhood is too new! :) Go figure.

Anyway, I hope you're getting over your nausea and let me know if there's anything I can do to help. In the meantime, when you go to Seattle I plan on making a happy day visit to you.

Love, strength, and God Bless--

Susan

Hi Jill,
Happy Birthday from Linda and I. The big three-oh is a milestone! We gave Dallas a hard time last year when he turned 30 and we're looking to do the same for Leah next spring.

Hope you are beginning to feel better and gaining strength. We continue to pray for you every day.

Love, Ron and Linda

I am so sorry you have to go through the nausea etc. which chemotherapy inflicts. Still praying that God gives you the strength and courage to journey successfully through this tough time and into good health again.
Sending much love from Saskatoon, Sk, Vera et al.

Happy Birthday to Jill.
Has obviously been a while since we have checked in with you. Talked to Cheryl last Sunday and got e-mails from Scott on the update of the conditions during that same week.
Hope things are going better this week. Have assumed as much since we have not heard anything.
Been busy with the start up of school and reacting to the energy crunch with fuel for school busses etc. Even the little folks in southern Idaho get impacted.
Might be up to see you folks next week end. Will keep in contact with you as the time gets closer.
Jill - take care of yourself and give Scott a hug for us.
