Jill Update

The purpose of this weblog was to keep Jill's family and friends current on her treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Jill passed away on January 20, 2013 after a 10 year battle against the disease and the side effects of her many treatments. This blog will now serve as a memorial to Jill. Please feel free to add your comments and thoughts.

Just 2 more weeks of radiation left

It has been a while since I wrote an update on Jill's treatment but there really hasn't been much news to report. Jill is now about nine weeks into her radiation treatment. Since my last report the radiologist gave her a week of rest followed by 3 weeks of generalized radiation to her abdomen. On Tuesday of this week they started the final phase of this treatment--two weeks of radiation targeted at two areas of her abdomen. The blanket radiation that ended on Monday was taxing, but the targeted treatment seems much easier because it is less intense. So she is feeling more energetic and less discomfort.

Sylvia reports that they (her, Jill and Scott) are enjoying the pleasant Boise spring weather, walking the dog, and working in the yard. Temperatures are still in the low 80s (30 C) during the day and down to about 50 (10 C) at night.
