There have been lots of changes since my last post. Last week Jill and Sylvia returned to Missouri to stay. Jill is looking forward to a fresh start at a new address and with her old name. Given her on-going health challenges, Jill decided that the best place for her is in the midwest, closer to her immediate family. Jill is also looking forward to reconnecting with old friends from the days when she lived, worked and studied here.
The logistics of the move from Idaho to Missouri were a challenge. Harley and I flew out to Boise from Illinois and Missouri respectively. We loaded everthing on a U-Haul that evening and then spent the next two days driving back to Rocheport. Harley then drove on to Urbana, Illinois. In the meantime Jill and Sylvia flew out to Seattle for four days of tests and consultations with her oncology team at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The results of scans and tests were all very encouraging. She remains cancer free for a record 12 months, her GVHD is under control, and her overall health and condition is as expected at this point.
Jill is establishing a system of medical support at the University of Missouri Health System. She has already given the emergency room and the hospital a test drive. On Monday she woke up to a fever and ended up in the hospital over night as the medical team worked to get it under control. It appears she was fighting a virus of some kind.
